People must be stupid when they bash each other for their drawing, thinking that it's not art.

I think they're both cool.
I do traditional sketches when I'm not on the computer, but that DOESN'T mean I'm not going to colour some sketches when I get a new tablet.

I don't go to a lot traditional art groups because I haven't got good colouring tools.
Just sketch groups. C:

And traditional artists will become extinct?
What are you guys talking about? :iconwthplz:

I've seen kind of lot of traditional art, so I don't understand why I should think they'll die out like dinosaurs.

This is something I don't believe because... it's silly! xD
And I'm sure they have support too. c:

But anyway, both of the media can be stressful sometimes.
Neither of them is easy.
And why do the media matter anyway?
Can't we just support both?

And besides that, I don't get why some traditional artist are so negative about digital art and the digital artists.
Even if the traditional art, itself is unpopular, I just don't get why?
I've seen a stamp that supports traditional art but when I looked at the title, it said "F*CK DIGITAL ART"
I find it really disrespectful. :noes:
I would have faved it... if it weren't for the offensive title.

Being a digital/traditional artist is not an excuse to be a jerk to someone who is a different media artist.

I don't understand people who say that a drawing is not art because it was not made on paper and call themselves "true artists".

It’s like saying “True owners own a cat or a dog, not a bird, a reptile, a fish, a bug, a rabbit, a guinea pig or any other pet animals that aren’t cats or dogs”.

Just because you think that, doesn't instantly make you right or correct, I might not be right or correct either but...

I honestly don’t believe that traditional art is the only true art.

I don't believe in most "true" _____ much and I don't care anyway.

And quite mostly, I don’t want to be a true artist, I just want to be an ARTIST. :stare:

I think there’s more to art than just digital drawing and traditional drawing.
And yes, there's more to traditional art than just pencil and paper.

Digital art and photography can be art too.

And if digital art, photography, emoticons and stamps are not art, then why does deviantART accepts them?

Even if people think that digital art is not real art, I will always be doing digital art, especially traditional art.

I'm not forcing anyone to do the same media as I do...
But yeah, I support both traditional and digital.

You don't have to be against digital art to be a traditional artist.
And you don't have to be against traditional art to be a digital artist.
And hating a media doesn't make you any cooler than the others.

No media is better.
We are not rivals, we are just artists.
This is deviantART, not deviantMEDIAWAR. :stare:

I'd rather get along with someone who doesn't always do the same media as I do.
We can both get along.

I do traditional art, but I also do digital art.

It's not my fault that you don't like what I do.

Have some respect. BI

Tl;dr?
I just don’t support traditional art snobs.

I might be aware that digital art snobs exist...

But I’ve seen more traditional art snobs than digital art snobs.

Then again, I think digital art snobs are just as bad as traditional art snobs.

Seriously, they should have some respect and chill out. :[

PS: Sorry if my grammar's bad. ^^;

Agreed! Though I wish people in general would feel the same. Traditional art just doesn't catch the eyes of most people on this website I'm afraid ^^; But not ALL. Some value both styles. And to them, I say thank you!

Right on! Some people think that traditional art is REAL art and that digital artists are lazy because they have all these shortcuts and stuff. I've seen plenty of amazing digital art and plenty of amazing traditional art. Though, I do have a LOT of respect for people who can create  photorealistic drawings on paper. I can barely even do the SKETCH properly so I can hardly IMAGINE how hard it must be to COLOR them :O

Though, digital art can be just as hard, it's really commendable for people who can create these amazing drawings in only 1 layer, something I could never do XD

All and all, both are equally awesome! Neither is better or easier.

I honestly do traditional art more than digital, I LOVE digital and traditional, but I need a drawing tablet because mouses suck. I think of them both equally, but I hate how some people usually bash on me telling me I suck at art .-. But, to sum it all up, this stamp is inspiring :D! YOU earned yourself a watcher!

I mostly do my work digitally, but often I do rough sketch ideas for characters or doodle when I'm bored in school on paper, and later I upload them, and might redo them in Photoshop.

Traditional and digital could also go nicely when utilized.

I love both and support both equally.  Honestly, there are some things a digital artist can do that a traditional artist will never be able to do and vice verse, just because of different tools.  I am a traditional artist, but I do a small bit of digital art here and there.

If you love art in general, I would really appreciate if you checked out my page! :D

I still do traditional art. There is nothing like sitting down and drawing the picture out. Then coloring it by hand. It takes time and patience :)

If you look a little closer, I replaced traditional with digital. They're seriously the same.

I'm someone who thinks the styles are good in their own ways, since I use traditional for sketch then finish it digitally :P

I don't think one media is more difficult than another. You need to get used to your traditional/digital supplies. I used to find traditional painting difficult 'til i got the hang of painting. I found digital painting difficult 'til I learned how to use PS. Both medias may be difficult at first.

There are negatives and positives for each

for example, digital has every colour imaginable and traditional you're kind of limited.

yet, tradition you're closer to your work and have more control, yet digital occasionally being so far from your drawing makes it a little sketchy.

i would do allot of traditional work myself but i cant afford the paint supplies every 2 seconds, and from the digital/traditional art ive done there just as hard/easy either way just in diffrent aspects. i dont see much diffrence between the two, i could to anything traditionaly that i can do digitally and vise versa without hardly any sorta diffrence, that i can tell at least. You are right, both traditional and digital drawings are difficult to do. I usually make both (rather traditional than digital because I don't have a tablet yet), and I don't understand people who say one is better than the other No, I disagree!.

Finally there's someone who supports both digital and traditional art! I personally don't think that medium matters; it depends on the amount of effort put into it. There isn't really "true" art.

Also, writing, cooking, music, and dance can be considered as a form of art.

Why do you think that?
What part of digital painting makes it not considered to be a 'painting'? You are required to know about colour theories, anatomy, perspective and along with blending as well as chiaroscuro just like traditional. The only different between digital and traditional paintings are the efficiency and the stylistic techniques both mediums serves.

I'm primarily a traditional artist, but that's just because I don't have the materials to transfer my traditional skills to the computer. (i.e. tablet) I love digital art to bits and I wish I could do all of my super-major-important ideas that way.
I understand why traditionalists get snobby, as they think that digital is "cheating." Plus, digi-art gets a lot more publicity.

I love and do both! :D They're both equally difficult and take skill to do. I've noticed a lot of people who act snobbish of the either/or is because they've never tried it before. (A little confession I used to be a traditional snob back in the day. I used to think it was just the computer doing all the work, but then after being confronted by a digital artist and then finally deciding to try it myself I realized just how hard it really was and it took me years to finally get the hand of it. Still am. )
